Adding an Operation

1.	Right Click on an End Item / Assembly / Feature / Manufactured Item which has not been locked and to which a Process is to be added.

Click on the “Add Process” Menu. A Dialog Box containing the list of Processes (i.e. Operations) already attached to the selected Component should appear along with their rankings. Note: Only the Operation with rank “1” will show up in the MBOM Tree under the Component. Only an Operation can be attached to a Component (not an Activity).

Refer to the Steps for Searching for an Operation in the “Process Editor”. Select the desired Version of the Operation to be inserted by double clicking on it. The selected Version of the Operation should be added to the List. The user can add Multiple Operations at a given point of time (including Locked Versions of the Operations).

4.	To Remove an Operation, right click on the component it is mapped to and select "Edit Process Mapping". Then highlight the operation in this view and click the "Remove" button.

5.	You can also change the Rank of an Operation in the "Edit Process Mapping" view. Select the Operation and click on the Up or Down Arrow buttons. Up arrow will move the Operation up by one rank and the down arrow moves it a rank below.

6.	To edit the Quantity of an Operation, select the Operation and click on the “Edit Quantity” button.

7.	Click on the “OK” button. The Operations in the List should get added to the list of existing Operations for the chosen Component.

8.	Click on the “Apply” button. The Operation having rank as “1” will be added under the chosen Component.

The above tasks can also performed from the “Process Mapping” Tab Page on the “MBOM” Authoring Tab Page on the Right Hand side (This Tab Page will be available only for End Items, Assemblies, Features, and Manufactured Items.)

Adding an Activity

1.	To add an activity to an operation, right click on the operation in the mBOM tree and click on "Edit in Process Editor".

2.	Inside the Process editor, right click on the operation and select Add >>New.

3.	Next, provide an ID, Name, Description, and Type (Activity).

4.	Click "OK" and the new activity will now be mapped to the operation.

5.	View the Process Library section to learn more about the process editor.

NOTE: The user can edit any operation by right clicking on it selecting the Edit in Process Editor menu item. The Edit process menu item invokes the process editor.
