Rules

ID is a mandatory field.

Locking a version of a component is an irreversible process. The user can set the preference of viewing the latest version of a Component by setting the “ShowAllVersions” option in the Edit -Preferences menu.

“Move to Next Version” context menu will be enabled only for Locked Versions of a component. This will create a version of the component that would be one greater than the latest version.

Cloning a component would create a new component at the bottom of the tree with the ID as “Clone of xxx” where “xxx” is the ID of the Component. The Version of the Clone would be “1”.

Deleting a version of a Component would remove only the selected version of the component. Delete will be allowed only if the component is not used in the mBOM/eBOM tree. Similarly deleting the folder of the components would remove all the versions of that Component.

Renaming a component would be allowed as long as the first Version of the Component is not locked.

Locking a version of a component will lock all the child components under it.
