Proplanner allows the user to create scenarios that depict their exiting production lines. The balance is dependent on the precedence relationship between the tasks. The line balancing module allows a user to create a line balance manually or use the tool to get an automatic balance. There are two basic algorithms in the line balance tool, minimizing the number of stations (Type I) or minimizing the takt time (Type II). The Type I balance requires the user to specify a Takt time based on which the least number of stations are computed. The Type II balance requires the user to specify the number of stations based on which the least Takt time is calculated. Other settings and features include Single or Mixed model line balance and Single or Two Sided line balance.
