Adding an End Item
| 1. | Right Click in the Tree (in the Empty area under the Tree) and select the “New” Menu under the “Load End Item” Menu. |
| 2. | Enter the ID. Then enter the other details of the End Item (if required). The “OK” Button should be enabled. Clicking "OK" adds it to the tree. |
| 3. | To add an existing End Item, Click on the “Existing” Menu under the “Load End Item” Menu. A Dialog Box containing a list of existing End Items should be shown. Then select the End Item to be loaded from the list of existing end items and click on “OK” button of the Dialog Box. If an existing End Item having children is added, then its children will also get added under it. |
Note: To unload an End Item, right click on the item and select "Unload End Item".
Adding an Assembly
| 1. | Right Click on the component. |
| 2. | Click on the “New” Menu under the “Add” Menu. Note: To add an existing component type, click on the “Existing” menu under the “Add” Menu. User can add multiple existing Components at a time. If an existing Component having children is added, then its children will also get added under it. |
| 3. | Select the Component type to be added from the “Type” Combo Box. Then Enter the ID. Then enter the other details of the Component (if required). The “OK” Button should be enabled. |
| 4. | Click on the “OK” button. The chosen Component Type having the newly created ID should be added to the chosen component as its last child. |
| 5. | The same procedure is repeated for adding Manufactured Items, Purchased Items, Features and Items. Only Raw materials can be added to Manufactured Items. |
Adding a Raw Material
| 1. | Right Click on a Manufactured Item. |
| 2. | Click on the “New” Menu under the “Add” Menu. Note: To add an existing Raw Material, Click on the “Existing” Menu under the “Add” Menu. User can add multiple existing Raw Materials at a time. |
| 3. | Then Enter the ID. Also enter the other details of the Raw Material (if required). The “OK” Button should be enabled. |
| 4. | Click on the “OK” button. The Raw Material having the newly created ID should be added to the chosen Manufactured Item as its last child Component. |
Note: Adding Components to End Items / Assemblies / Features / Manufactured Items should also be performed by using the “Library” Docking Control on the “MBOM Authoring” Tab Page. The Library Control is similar to the “Component Editor”.
