New features and changes in Proplanner version 2.7 from version 2.4

Observed Time Video Control

The observed time sheet in 2.4 allowed the user to do a stop watch study. We have now included the video control in our application, this allows the user to do a stop watch study by observing the video. The video is broken down into the individual elements of the study thus allowing the user to view the relevant portion of the video.

FMEA

Now when the user selects either a DFMEA or PFMEA report (Compiled or not) they are given multiple options to sort  by. Sorting can still be based on the traditional RPN value (Severity X Occurrence X Detection) or it can be based on a user defined combination of values.  For example:  Severity x Occurrence, or just Detection.  All FMEA reports can be sorted by before or after action values and in either ascending or descending order.

Control Plan

Users can now keep track of and add valuable information to PFMEA's using the control plan feature.  The control plan tab is available when an activity is selected in the mBOM tree.

Auto-number Generator

The auto number generator (ANG) provides users with the ability to rapidly generate IDs for processes. The ANG works off schemes. The user can define multiple schemes or templates for defining the structure of the generated number. Each scheme has two parts, a fixed text portion and an auto generated portion. The fixed portion will be present in each ID; it can be placed at the beginning, in the middle or at the end. The auto generated portion is automatically generated based on the next available ID.

Line Balancing

Option based line balancing

The option based line balancing is applicable to assembly lines where a certain option dominates the balance. For e.g. a stereo install in a vehicle, say there are two options a BASIC and a DELUXE, for a basic stereo the speaker install takes 10 minutes (4 speakers) where as for the deluxe stereo the install takes 15 min (6 Speakers). The speaker installation is always on the same station. The Option Rule balance allows the user to balance the line for the worst option, in this case for the deluxe, thus maintaining all other options within the Takt time.

Task Grouping

The task grouping feature in line balancing allows the user to group activities in the line balance scenario instead of creating an operation for the same in the authoring module. Certain tasks that must be done in one station can be grouped together and will move as one entity in the line balance.

Task Model Data

In a mixed model line balance, the Task Model data view enables the user to see the time of the task per model.

Station View

The station view enables the user to view one station at a time. This feature is useful for balances with a large number of stations

Custom Fields Import

BOM information can now be imported with custom fields.  All users need to do is define a custom field for an End Item using the Custom Field Generator.  After that is completed, the custom fields will automatically appear as columns in the import data interface.

Work Instruction Page Break

The work instruction tool bar now contains an "insert page break" command.

Process Diff Report

The process diff report allows users to compare two different processes for end items.
