Automatic Balancing
Minimize number of stations - Default This option minimizes the number of stations for a specified takt time, keeping the precedence intact. The algorithm computes a weighted average time per station and tries to keep the average time within takt.
Minimize number of stations - Peak Model Balance This option minimizes the number of stations for a specified takt time, keeping the precedence intact. The algorithm computes the time of the individual models and tries to keep the highest model time within takt.
Minimize Takt Time - Default This option minimizes the takt time for a specified number of stations, keeping the precedence intact. The algorithm computes a weighted average time per station and tries to keep the average time within the computed takt time.
Minimize Takt Time - Peak Model Balance This option minimizes the takt time for a specified number of stations, keeping the precedence intact. The algorithm computes the time of the individual models and tries to keep the highest model time within the computed takt time.
Automatic creation of new stations If the stations defined in the scenario are less than required, then the algorithm creates new stations.
You can manually move processes after running an automatic balance. To move activities around, right click on the activities in the task list and select the station to which the task needs to be moved to.
Consider Monumental Resource Constraint
If the ‘Consider Monumental Resource Constraint’ is checked and if a process is assigned a resource, the algorithm will consider assigning a process to the station that has the resource, over other activities. However, do note that the Precedence Constraint has priority over Monumental Resource Constraint. |
