mBOM Authoring Options for an Activity

1. Header Tab

 

Allows users to edit Name, Description, Quantity, and Effectivity dates.
Users can also select the line side of the activity as Left, Right, or Either.
Custom Field values can also be entered here.

 

 

2. Time Tab

 

Allows users to complete time studies on a specific activity
Users can choose from Estimated, Calculated, and Observed Times.
For more information, view the Time Study section of this manual.

 

 

3 Resource-Location Tab

 

Users can map resources to a specific activity.
Users can map an activity to a specific location.

Adding a Resource to an Activity

 

1.Select an Activity in the MBOM Tree to which a Resource is to be attached. Note: The Activity should not be locked else the user will not be allowed to add Resources. The list of already added Resources for the selected Activity should be displayed in the “Resource” Group Box on the “Resource - Location” Tab Page.

 

2. Click on the “Add” button in the “Resource” Group Box. A Dialog Box containing the list of available Resources should be displayed.

3. Select the desired Resource(s) and click on the arrow button or double click on the desired Resource(s).

Note: The user can add multiple Resources at a given point of time. The selected Resource should get added to the list of “Selected Resources” on the Right Hand Side.

 

Note: The Quantity of the added Resource will be “1” by default. This Quantity can be changed later on using the “Edit Quantity” button.      

 

 

Attaching a Location to an Activity

 

1.Select an Activity in the MBOM Tree to which a location is to be attached.

 

2.Click on the “ Attach Location” button. A Dialog Box containing the list of Plants and their respective Locations should be displayed.

 

3.Select the desired Plant from the Drop Down Box. The Locations available for the selected Plant should be shown below it.

 

4.Select a Location from the List Box and click on the “OK” button. The selected Location should be displayed in the “Selected Location” Text box in the “Activity Location” Group Box on the “Resource - Location” Tab Page and the Resources available at that location will also be shown in the list under the Text box.

Note: To detach a location, select the activity and click the detach location button.

 

 

4 Consumption Tab

 

To map the Parts to an Activity

 

1.Select an Activity in the MBOM Tree for which Part Consumption details have to be entered.

 

Note: The Activity should not be locked. If the Parent Operation of the selected Activity has sibling Components, they will be displayed in a list on the “Consumption” Tab Page.

 

2.The user can then enter information three different ways.

       

i.The user can copy and paste the parts from an excel sheet into the consumption sheet.
ii.The user can choose from the BOM defined in the mBOM tree, by clicking on the “Add from BOM” button (as shown in the Figure below).
iii.The user can choose from the library of parts available by clicking on the "Add from Library" option.

5 History Tab

 

The history tracking feature allows the user to enter details about changes made to the process and maintain a log of all changes and modifications made to the process.
