Routing Copy

The routing copy tool in Proplanner allows the user to copy routing operations mapped to assemblies from one end item and map them over to the same assemblies under another end item.

Copy routings

The routing copy feature can be best explained through an example,

E1

e2

The above example has two end items, E1 and E2.

E1 has two assemblies in it, A1 and A2, A1 has operation O1 mapped to it and A2 has operation O2 mapped to it.

E2 is an end item with assemblies, A1, A2 and A3. A3 in turn has assembly A1 as a child.

If the user were to copy routings from E1 to E2, the following structure would be created,

E2 - end item

A1 - assembly

-O1- routing operation for assembly A1

A2 - assembly

-O2 - routing operation for assembly A2

A3 - assembly

A1 - assembly

-O1 - routing operation for assembly A1

The process structure is mapped to the corresponding assemblies under the new end item, along with the structure, documents, time and resource data is also copied over. The user can also check the consumption check box to copy over the part consumption information from one end item to the other.
