Proplanner includes an advanced workflow engine to manage Engineering (ECO's) and/or Manufacturing Change Orders (MCO's) and eventually release the approved BOM and Process Routings to ERP systems (such as Oracle/JD Edwards or SAP). Simultaneously, the MCO's can be used to deploy detailed shop floor work instructions directly to the shop floor or to Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Change Requests (ECR's) which eventually become Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) can be created in Proplanner or imported from any other system.

Manufacturing Change Orders (MCO's) are assigned to Manufacturing Engineers, by a coordinator, and are tracked by up to 6 different release phases (i.e. Process Approve, Release, Implement, Verify, Complete).

ERP/MRP Integration

  • Conversion and Reconciliation of Product Engineering's BOM View (Engineering BOM - eBOM), into Manufacturing Engineering's Process View Routing and Item Master (Manufacuting BOM - mBOM).

  • Automatic Export of Released and Validated Process Routings and Item Masters to the ERP system.

  • Provides an intuitive and graphially navigatable user interface for Manufacturing Engineers (ME) to maintain the ERP/MRP data. Essentially improving the interface for ME's into ERP/MRP.

  • Abilty to automatically import existing ERP/MRP Routings and Item masters into Proplanner to speed initial implementation.

  • Ability to Add, Change or Remove Routings, Item masters, or mBOM data in the ERP/MRP system from within Proplanner.

  • Gives the ME an experimental workbench to author, evaluate, and manage manufacturing alternatives prior to release into the ERP/MRP and MES systems. The ability to pre-process potential changes results in a more effective manufacturing process and a faster, easier and more accurate execution to the shop floor.

Engineering Workflow

  • Provides an automated system for manufacturing engineering, to process product engineering changes .

  • Automated notification to Manufacturing Coordinators(MCO) when proposed changes occur to the product.

  • Ability for Manufacturing Coordinators(MCO) to review the product changes and assign process change responsibility to manufacturing engineers.

  • Provides notification of newly assigned work and the ability to track the status of work previously assigned.

  • When the Engineering Change Order(ECO) (approved change) is released by engineering, The Manufacturing Engineer(ME) is notified and is able to make any final changes to the process prior to automatically updating the ERP/MRP system.

  • The system provides access controls (such as check-in/check-out) to eliminate conflicting changes to data files.

  • Addresses complexities commonly incurred within concurrent engineering environments, such as multiple conflicting ECR's (Engineering Change Requests).
